Village Hall re-opens offering special rates

The committee of Cracoe Village Hall has announced that the venue has now re-opened and plans to offer opportunities to hire out the hall to local residents at much reduced rates and with a simplified pricing structure.

The hall had remained closed to the general public since the first lockdown of COVID19 March last year, but with government restrictions lifting from 19 July, normal regular activities are now able to resume.

During that time the village hall committee had permitted the Cracoe and Rylstone Primary School to have exclusive use of its premises and was keen to support the school through the COVID19 crisis, providing extra room for such things as breakfast and after-school clubs, lunches, additional classroom space where necessary and P.E.

A well-loved community asset, the hall is generally considered to be one of the very best in the Yorkshire Dales. It provides a home for a range of recreational facilities for people living, not only in Cracoe, but also the surrounding villages of Rylstone, Hetton, Bordley, Flasby and Winterburn. As well being home to various clubs and societies over the years, the village hall committee organise popular social events for the community including a quiz & pudding evening, coffee mornings, craft fairs and a pantomime.

Chairman of the village hall committee, Andrew Armstrong, said “As life begins to return to normal, we look forward to enquiries from individuals to book the hall for their own events again. It’s a fabulous venue for local people from our six local villages to hold wedding receptions, christenings and other celebrations - which will seem all the brighter after the long months of lockdown.”

Booking enquiries for the village hall can be made by emailing bookingscvh@btinternet.com
