National Park open for business this weekend

From Saturday, additional businesses and venues, including cafés, restaurants, pubs, visitor attractions, hotels and campsites will be able to open in the Yorkshire Dales National Park under updated Government guidelines.

Visiting the National Park this weekend?   Plan your visit, Check ahead  - that's the advice being given to those visiting this weekend.

Neil Heseltine, Chairman of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, said: “As we enter the next phase of the lifting of lockdown restrictions this weekend, we’re offering the following advice to anyone considering visiting the Yorkshire Dales National Park for the day, or longer.

“Respect the land. Respect the community. Respect each other. For the safety of visitors and residents, this includes maintaining a two-metre social distance where possible, knowing the Countryside Code, and taking all your litter home.  “Expect a different visitor experience. Local businesses will have strict social distancing measures in place and may limit how many people can be accommodated at any given time. Book ahead, and please show patience and understanding.

“Plan your visit. Check ahead. Not everywhere will be open from day one, and, with strict social distancing measures in place, some venues may be busy. Plan your visit in advance and check ahead to stay safe and avoid disappointment. We would recommend visitors have accommodation booked in advance before leaving home.

“The safety of visitors and communities throughout the National Park is our number one concern, so please keep to the two-metre social distancing rule where possible, take your litter home and do not bring BBQs into the countryside. More details, including advice for first time visitors, is available online at www.yorkshiredales.org.uk”.
