Dales people and businesses are urged to have their say on a draft set of objectives to be included in the next Yorkshire Dales National Park Management Plan.
A consultation, which has been running since mid-January closes next week.
The management plan, the most important policy document for the National Park, is set to give priority to the nature and climate emergencies and make commitments to supporting “nature-friendly farming” businesses across the National Park.
David Sharrod of Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, who is the Chair of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Management Plan Partnership, said: “This consultation is an important opportunity for organisations across the National Park to influence the final detail and to tell us what they can do to help achieve those shared objectives. I would urge organisations to examine the proposals and have their say.
“The new plan builds on what has been achieved over the last 5 years, such as broadening access to the National Park by the public and retaining our dark skies at night. But there are some new and striking objectives such as creating over 5,000 hectares of new wildlife-rich habitats; and making the National Park a place of healing for more people to help tackle health inequalities in society”.
