An 18-year-old man from Keighley in under investigation after being arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle that was taken from outside a house in Grassington.
The ‘2-in-1’ burglary – where suspects break into a house to obtain car keys – happened at an address on Mirefield at around 11.55pm on Thursday (13 April 2023).
With support from West Yorkshire Police, officers were quickly alerted to the scene and pursued the stolen vehicle.
It was sighted exiting Morrisons supermarket onto Broughton Road in Skipton before coming to a stop on Ruskin Avenue.
The two occupants - described as two white males in their late teens – jumped out of the vehicle and it collided with two parked cars causing damage.
The suspects made off on foot before one was arrested nearby. Following questioning, he was released on conditional police bail.
Enquiries are ongoing to track down the second suspect.
