While driving towards Horton in Ribblesdale on the B6479, two CRO members in a team Land Rover, came across a road traffic collision which had occurred only moments earlier.
Driving a vehicle marked as an ambulance they felt obliged to stop and offer assistance until the statutory emergency services arrived.
They were able to provide care and pain relief for the injured motor-cyclist a male thought to be in his fifties, until he could be handed over to the paramedics.
After assisting them with the transfer to the road ambulance, they continued on their way.
