Ex LMS Black 5 locomotive No. 45212 is doing the honours for this year’s THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Rides. Would you like the chance to ride behind this stunning loco?
We are pleased to announce the return of our special steam-hauled trains this Christmas! We will be operating two-days of steam services on 28 and 29 December. There will also be a diesel service on 30 December - the loco is still to be confirmed and separate ticketing page completed.
Journey behind Ex LMS Black 5 locomotive No. 45212 through the stunning Yorkshire Dales! You have a choice of three trips per day to choose from and can depart from Leeming Bar, Bedale or Leyburn stations (with a request stop at Finghall station).
Leeming Bar departures: 10:00, 12:20 and 14:40
Bedale departures: 10:10, 12:30 and 14:50
Leyburn departures: 11:20, 13:40 and 16:00
Blow those post-Christmas cobwebs away and travel back in time with us! enjoy a festive journey between Leeming Bar, Bedale and Leyburn and a complimentary mince pie and hot drink!
All tickets are Rovers, so travel on any service from any station on the day.
Our station cafes and shops will be open at Bedale and Leyburn, serving a selection of hot and cold refreshments. Unfortunately, there will be no café facilities at Leeming Bar station as it’s still set up for Polar Express.
For customers travelling by car, please note that there is no car parking available at Leeming Bar Station or on the street outside. There is, however, very limited parking available at the former Vale of Mowbray factory overflow carpark, situated immediately behind the factory site at Low Street, off Leases Road. Alternatively, you can board the trains at Bedale Station (DL8 1AW) where there is ample parking in the town.
The return ticket price will be £25 for adults and £5 for children (aged 3-15). Booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
